august 2017 // iphone photos [ ohio + indiana photographer ]

August was the month of cuddling my nephew August and I couldn't get enough of it! It flew by super quick but now we are on to my favorite month of the year. Hello birthday month! While I was super hesitant about turning 24, I've gotten to the place that 25 seems like a great age to be. With that being said my last month of being 24 went a little something like this:

  • Weekday lake time. The best. No one is there, the lake is calm, and the amount of work I get done is remarkable.
  • Drove up to Chicago to photograph a bridal shower at the Little Goat Diner. Cutest place ever with amazing food. Its a must visit. I hope to go back to get the full experience outside of their private event suite.
  • I bought a new rug for my dining room. Its a huge hit according to Veda Belle.
  • Drove up to Toledo to photograph Chris and Jaclyn's wedding. So perfect--the weather, the couple, the venue.
  • Back to the lake for a Sunday -- surprise!
  • I attended Tuesday's Together in Fort Wayne and finally got to hang out with some of the best Fort Wayne creatives and wedding industry peeps. Great convo, great coffee. Shout out to Fortezza!
  • Becca, my friend from college was in town for work training and I stole her away for lunch. I love and miss this girl so much! South Bend has a good one. <3
  • I attended the first half of Hidden Spaces in Van Wert, OH before I had to take off for an engagement session. If you haven't been, it is something you should definitely put on your calendar the next time Van Wert Main Street offers it. The history of all of the old buildings is super cool. My brain was buzzing with ideas of how to revive and build businesses within these buildings.
  • I shot a wedding in the Lima/Wapak Ohio area. Lauren and Will, so perfect! Shout out to Little Brown Dog Productions for being a stellar team of videographers!
  • The week of the solar eclipse had been on our calendar for months. My mom and I jumped in the car and made the 7 hour trip in 9 hours. Woof. That construction traffic is no bueno. I think they store those orange cones on the highway. I mean.. where else would they store them?! I don't think they stack??
  • The Auntie Mobile held its name as I took August to daycare in the afternoons.
  • The solar eclipse viewing party at Green Door Gormet, definitely something I will always remember. Such a cool site to see. Definitely put the 2024 one on your calendar.
  • ACM Honors night. TBH, we had no idea what these tickets are when we bought them. It was pretty fun to be rows away from Reba, Dolly Parton, Thomas Rhett, George Strait, Jason Aldean, and the cast of Nashville. My sister in law and I were having fan girl moments.
  • When taking August to daycare, I had a million rules to follow. One rule included a photo of August. I decided to photobomb one day and I think it crimped his style. He wasn't feeling the whole Auntie kissing him in front of his friends thing.
  • We visited my moms friends from childhood. I always love visiting their home in Franklin, TN. Becky has a style that makes me want to move to a mountain town and live in an old home. That combo, fab.
  • Barista Parlor work day, you know thats a common occurrence.
  • Rian packed up my care (he's always been a pro at Tetris) and I snapped photos of Rowbee so everyone knows that my dog niece is still alive and well. What a sweetie.
  • My wedding in Battle Creek Michigan did not disappoint. Yowza, so pretty! *heart eye emoji's all around*
  • As if I wasn't a tad bit salty with Apple's new macbook adapter nonsense, Veda decided to chew one up.
  • Another weekday trip to the lake. One of the first times that Veda didn't want to leave. I hope I'm as fortunate to have kids who don't want to leave. But for now I'm going to soak up the love that my fur baby has for it.
  • The Patel family invited me in to photograph day 1 of their indian wedding celebration. Vidhi looked absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to see the photos Mili Ghosh and his team capture at her wedding. So much color. Obsessed.

Goodbye, August. Hello, September. The month of pumpkin spice everything. TBH, its September 2nd and I've already had 2 PSL's. *Shrugs*
