Meredith, Michael, and their dreamy destination wedding — oh my lanta! As told by Meredith’s mom, 8 generations of her family were married in this little country church just south of Fort Recovery, Ohio. Saint Anthony church filled with family and close friends who made the drive from Indiana and Chicago. Their Memorial Day weekend wedding started off hot and muggy as they walked down the aisle to commit their lives to one another. (Hands down the most beautiful rendition of Ava Maria I have ever heard. Get that girl a record deal!) As everyone exited the church the wind picked up. Just as the portrait time finished the skies opened up and poured as we made the drive to Meredith’s family lake house in northern Indiana (Columbia City). The timing couldn’t have been any better! In my opinion, every wedding needs a bit of rain. After all, a wet knot is harder to break.
Guests parked along the street of their Shriner Lake (tri lakes) home. Kids played along the beach, family caught up with each other, and Meredith and Mike casually made their way around to chat with everyone. As the night wrapped up Mike roasted and brewed his famous coffee while Meredith passed out lottery tickets. One of the sweetest weddings that I’ve had the honor to photograph.
