This family is near and dear to my heart. Why? Because they are my family. Meet my brother, Rian and my beautiful sister-in-law, Maryann. (can't forget my spunky dog neice, Rowbee.) Rian and Maryann welcome baby Rainey in a few days and my bag is already packed to hit the road once I get the call that baby is coming. No joke.
I really enjoyed photographing these two. When I was in 6th grade, Rian gave me his broken point-and-shoot camera. The screen was broken and I couldn't see any of the photographs that I took until I uploaded the photos to my computer--it was like shooting film for me without the expense or knowledge of film. A few point-and-shoots and a DSLR later, Rian and Maryann were my very first paying clients in 2011. They asked me to photograph their engagement session at Lake Wawasee. I had no idea what I was doing and Asha (Maryann's sister) came up with all of the posing ideas for me. That July day was one of the most nerve-racking days of my life. I think we all had a lot of fun seeing how different their maternity session was held compared to the engagement session. That little 18 year old with a fancy camera had become a 24 year old that actually knew what all of the buttons and numbers on her camera meant and the posing was much more seamless and natural.
Thanks for believing in me, sibs. I love you both and I can't wait to meet Blueberry. <3
